Happy Earth Day!

The earth has provided us with beautiful plants that keep growing throughout the years. My jasmine bush cutting is thriving in this little bottle and the roots are taking over. I have enjoyed watching it grow for the past six months and may have to break the bottle to rescue and plant it in the ground. Well, at least I have more bottles to start a new one. (And maybe I can take the broken glass and put it into a rock tumbler to recycle for a future craft project.)

Happy Earth Day!

Inspiration From A Fellow Blogger!

My in-laws had an antique collectables business that was sold last year.  It accumulated mostly from garage sales and estate sales. Going through everything was a big task (either toss, sell or KEEP.) I caught myself grabbing items that were just about to be tossed. I stuck this wire basket away thinking that one day I will create something new.

Mary Alice from one of my favorite vintage blogs, chateau chic, displayed "an inspiration piece" on her post HERE (scroll down post until you see her beautiful wire basket.) Thank you Mary Alice for always inspiring me!

What The Easter Bunny Left Behind!

Hope everyone had a Happy Easter! Just a little late posting my Easter decorating. By taking a few little items aside, we are springing forward to Spring!

The moss or fungus in the bunny's basket I found on the trunk of my cypress tree. It is unusual, but loved the look.

These eggs I like to bring out every year that I made by using tissue paper and "Mod Podge". I also glued the tissue paper around the candle. (Don't throw out your tired old candles. I had some that were given to me that had faded so always store your candles separated from one another...I use tissue paper.)

I discovered these ceramic eggs at Hobby Lobby a while ago and was surprised at how real they look. (They are located on the jar/bottle aisle.)

And of course, I had to get in on the "Peeps" explosion and buy me a package. I gave him a little sour gummy worm and stuck him in a "seed starter pot",
(set of 12 at The Dollar Tree.)

Happy Easter!

Bringing out the Green for St. Patrick's Day!

Spring is sprouting out just in time to bring out the GREEN for St. Patrick's Day!

The fresh new growth of boxwood and adding cuttings from my jasmine bush to green Ball jars brings a lot of bright green nature into my home.

Hydrangeas, key limes, and green apples brings natural beauty to every vignette all year round!

And don't forget to wear green...Happy St. Patrick's Day!

The Rodeo Has Arrived!

Ladies and Gent's, once again the Rodeo has arrived down south.
These boots have outgrown the youngins and not made for walkin' anymore...only decorating in my homestead!

I used these same boots last year as seen in the display HERE. I had noticed that you could not see the stitching in the boots from the lighting, so this year I got out my chalk and easily marked over them. Mark that down as another added use for chalk besides chalkboards, sidewalks, artwork and sewing!

The coat rack gets a new look for Rodeo time too.  Click HERE and scroll down to see what it looked like for Valentine's Day.

I call this jacket that I found at a Thrift Store, "Bohemian Western."

Always use your thrift store jewelry finds too to add a special touch!

Happy Trails Y'all!

Decorating with Jewelry!

Adding vintage costume jewelry gives the right touch of sparkle and pizazz to any vignette. Some pieces may even have stories behind them to share...so bring them out to display and start a conversation!

The clip-on brooch (I think that is what it is) that was found at a garage sale, adds lovely detail to this vase.

This pink vignette was inspired by my Grandmother's clip on  sparkle earrings.

I remember when she would wear her clip-on's and was so relieved to take them off after she got home from an outing. (ouch!)

Finding inexpensive silver jewelry at garage sales or any that you have from your own collection gathered from your youth, brings back cherished memories!

Even display your free Mardis Gras beads!

And this nude statue gets a little bling too!

Still Winter but ready for Spring!

As winter is still among us and for some, a little too much of it now, I am ready for spring! I found this little plant at Loew's. They also have a variety of succulents which are nice in terrariums and all your vintage glassware.

When I was making a burlap runner for my dining room table, I decided to keep the strings that you pull off when you want to make a fringe. I thought it can be used later for something since I love to recycle. So here it is wrapped loosely around my plant and bird's nest.
